Long Time No See (20 pics 1 gif)

Its been a bit quite around these parts recently, sorry we decided that with all the money we make here (ZERO FREAKING DOLLARS!) we were entitled to take a vacation.  Thus we all ran off and visited a different homeless shelter for the past week.  Turns out none of them were close enough to a Starbucks to steal wifi so we are back at our old digs again.

Rules Clarified - Breath Easy America

I have been so worried recently about the AWSA rule book, its been keeping me up nights...really got under my skin, in my craw, under the hood so to speak, and despite all or none of our repeated attempts to rectify the situation, we were just stuck in a constant state of worry, despair, depression, angst and occasionally drunk worry.

It was bad news man.

But then, when all of our hopes felt dashed against the breakwall, a raven flew into our HQ and pooped on the floor.  But that was AFTER it dropped off this note.

According to Richelle Matli, Rules Committee chairperson for the American Water Ski Association, effective July 11, 2013 and going forward, the following rules interpretation will be used regarding submission of national records. This interpretation will follow the stipulations of AWSA Rule 1.07.  

AWSA 14.01: Only skiers with U.S. citizenship may set records; this includes those with dual citizenship. However, a competitor who skis in international competition for another federation shall not be eligible to set a record for two years following their performance in that international competition.

Thank god.  Sticking it to BIG WATERSKI and their proliferation of DOUBLE AGENTS.

Travel Itinerary Updated To Reflect Online Reviews

Most people use some form of online research before making plans for a trip, or big purchases, or before attending events, a whole bunch of things now days.

Normally you take the good with the bad, because it gives you a general idea of what you are getting yourself into, are all the reviews and/or comments generally positive?  Well, then the odds of you having a good time, making a wise purchase, etc, are going to be higher.  On the other hand, if the reviews are generally less then favorable, the odds are that you are not going to be purchasing said product, staying at said resort or attending said event.

CRB, being the international operation that we are, we spend a lot of time on the road, seeking out new markets, interfacing with clients, upgrading our paradigm buzzword to better reflect changes in the monetary architecture of business bros.

Since we tend to be fairly active* in social media, we were alerted that one of our choices for hotel accomadations in Jersey City may not best fit with our swinging, money is no object, enjoy the finer things in life lifestyle.

The Econo Lodge in Jersey city, link, was on the list of options our logistics department to book when we sent the R and D team out on the road.  Their reviews were, say, less then pleasant.  Lets take a look.

Ok, well, thats probably not the best first impression you want to make, despite Afropunks iffy use of the english language.  No one likes their room to smell like 1000 cigarettes, or have flys all over the place.  Bonus points for Mr. Punk in pointing out the cost and convenience of going into New York City.

Breaking this one down, the guy behind the counter was rude, the room was dirty and she didn't feel safe.  Thats a pretty bad trifecta for a hotel.  Of course, it could have just been a bad coincidence that the person behind the counter was having a bad day and the cleaning crew over looked the room.  It happens.  "I would feel much saver and more comfortable in my car"

Oh.  Well, maybe she has one of those bitchen conversion vans!

This one is nice, sweet sweet anger with a dusting of racism.  It pretty much runs the gamut, complaining about the smell (which seems to be a ongoing theme), complaints about the beds, the general upkeep of the place, complaints about the food...but, Oh!  a nice bathroom...but a gangster mexican guy who is weird and cleans.

We are now three for three with bad reviews.  Not sure though, maybe just a few bad apples.

Look, maybe we would like easy access to our drugs without having to galavant around the city at night when we are just trying to get faded.  Have you thought of that Mr. Stratola????

He did, however, touch on all the themes that we have seen, rude people, bad accommodations, drugs, etc.  But, WHOA.  Dude is friends with The Krista??

That seals it, BURN THIS HOTEL TO THE GROUND!!

The following vids are from the US Show Ski Team that competed at the world show ski tournament last year. This group brought together the best of the best in show skiing and they put on a show that will be tough to top. It will be fun to see what they can do next year.

I have seen Dan Olson free style jump a couple times. He and a few other of the top free style jumpers in the country skied in an exhibition put on by the Dolphin Wetsuit guys at the LA Night Jam a couple years ago. These guys were throwing tricks that no other free style jumpers in the country have even thought of yet. All 4 of the guys there were on wake skis, these are basically light and strong twin tip jump skis inspired by wakeboard technology. I could not find a video of Dan or any of the other guys from the LA Night Jam so this vid of Dan killing it at a cable park will have to do.

We posted this vid a couple years ago, it is by far the best shoe ski vid we have seen.  The shoe king has some insane skills.  Back flips on shoe skis are nearly impossible and Ive never even heard of anyone else landing a wake to wake front flip.  Long live the king.

Anyone that has paid attention to Pro slalom skiing over the last couple years knows the name Nate Smith.  While he may have the most boring name in pro skiing right now, his performances on the water are anything but boring.  I have seen him run 41 off several times in person and its as awesome as you would think.  He ran 41 off in the semi finals at the Malibu Open for a shot at the record, he was not allowed to take that shot (WTF M8s?) for some unknown reason, but he did give it a run in the finals and tied his own record.  2@43 off...wow.  I have seen 41 off a couple times in my own skiing career...I was on a trick ski...at 18 mph.  And that was GD hard, running it at 36 seems light years beyond anything I will ever be able to do.

The "People are awesome" youtube vids have been around for a few years now and this one may top them all.  The shit people can do is crazy on its own but with the advent of very small high resolution cameras we can not get very high quality video in ways we never could with a big ass boxy camera.
