Something is Different

Hey! We got a new President!! Anyone else hear about that?!?!

The current editor of this site, the ODBF, asked me to wax some opinions here in this space about the election. Why? I am not sure, but, I would venture a guess that its because I am much better with grammar and the English language.

However, after spending an hour or so bashing away on the keyboard I decided that the CRB is not the place for that sort of talk.

However, here are a few thoughts for you guys to chew on.

1) I am amazed at the ground swell of support for both candidates.

2) Obama's meteoric rise is simply astonishing. I remember seeing his win in 2004 in Illinois on TV. He has the IT factor. Opinions aside, he looks like a president.

3) McCain was most likely a sacrifical lamb for the republican party, expect a reorganization of the party and a Palin ticket in 2012 and that will be fun to watch.

4) I expect the next campaign to start in about a year for the 2012 election.

5) Thank god this whole thing is over.

We started this site, in its current incarnation, after the last major election. So, this is our first CRB Politics situation, and as a waterski site, its not our place to go off about anything. We hope everyone voted. If you voted for Obama, well, you won. If you voted for McCain, well, you lost.

Thats about it.

Its over...but we leave you with this.

From a superficial perspective, this is an historic type day in this countries history, from a non-superficial perspective, its not. I think this represents something more social then political, but, goodness, its certainly something that galvanized the majority of this country huh?

I still can't reach the fifth ball on my 28 off set though. Now, That would be a change I could believe in!!!!

what is your point? why does my opinion of the last 8 years have anything to do with the up coming president? Did I miss congress doing away with Term Limits? Was Bush a canidate in this election? He was not listed on my ballot...

McCain wasn't the problem the last 8 years. Both sides can take equal fault at the last 8 years, since when it comes down to it, congress is who makes the bulk of the decisions.

And electing someone with zero experience and has only really led twice in his life - both times failing - is surely not the answer.

Obama can talk the talk but that's it. You take him out of those fancy clothes and put him back where he came from and you'd see the thug he truly is.

    Dear Obama Supporters,

Please list the accomplishments of Barack Hussein Obama that prove he's ready for this position over McCain.

It is natural for me to be skeptical of Obama having voted for McCain. However, the man I voted for stayed true to his form by conceeding gracefully and moving forward. I have been reading emails, jokes etc for 2 years concerning Obama's qualifications to be president. Young voters aside there was a ground swell of support from old educated republicans and independants that felt he was the person to change the direction we as a country have been heading. At this point I am quiting the negative partisan dialog I have so readily engaged in. As a country we need these voters to be right and Obama to steer a steady course down the middle. Until he proves me wrong I like McCain will will support him. No I did not drink the koolaid

  8. I will side with the most recent anonymous. This is like an class in school. we all start with a clean slate. I liked what McCain had to say about supporting him, lets just watch and see, maybe he will do a good job, or he will fall on his face and the world will explode. oh wellz...

That all sounds great and I truly hope that were to happen....

but lets be realistic here. Look at who Obama has associated himself with over the last 20 years - if you think that's all going to happen, you are living in a dream world.

I sure hope I'm wrong, but his past proves I'm not.
