The New Hotness

Anyone here get Waterski Magazine?

/crickets

Well, we don't either, but, we happened to catch one at a corporate event* and couldn't help but notice a picture of a dude wearing a very interesting pair of jump skis.

As it turns out, they are the new HO Wakeskis. The wakeskis are basically twin-tip jumpers, sort of a free-style version of your traditional jumpers that are identical in the front and in back.

You can pick yourself up a pair of these bad boys at waterskis.com and will run you about $400 blank.
"Twin-tipped water skis designed to be ridden wake to wake, rails and winch Wakeboard based shape Compression molded construction for stiffness and durability Polyurethane core 100% fiberglass wrap Category-first 3D bottom contours Category-first kick tips Goemetric top contours for reduced weight and maximum torsional stiffness True twin-tip shape for perfect switch takeoffs and landings All HO Waterski bindings mount direct to Wakeskis."
Yeah, what they said!

Well, we would love to do some testing for our good buddies over at HO. Maybe some viral marketing, all we would need in payment would be a couple pairs of these bad boys and you got yourself a deal!

Besides, wouldn't it be great to be able to tricks like this:

Now, if only we could do something about those dreadful graphics and we would really be on to something!!

*not really

ok so this is the same thing that happened with snowboards and snow skis. Skiers complained so much about snowboarders and said how it was so dumb. Then skiers realized that snowboarding was more fun than just normal skiing. But since they ripped on snowboarders so much they couldn't just go and buy a snowboard while maintaining their dignity. So they invented twin tipped skis so they could bo all the same stuff like half pipes and jumps landed backwards. That being said waterskiers, Welcome to the dark side.

Oh I just had a great Idea. Can we get one of these in a slalom version. Then we will set up a coarse where there is a take off ramp between every bouy. Seeing as you wouldn't want the boat to have to drive over every jump they would have to be before the wake/boat path. It would go a litte something like this. Start out normal, go through start gates, round 1 ball, pull arms back into proper form, BAM, you hit the ramp, (extra points are added for grabs, spins, flips, moobs, etc) you land, stretch stick out your ass, round ball 2, grab handle, arms in, Bam, Crow moob over the take off ramp. and so on and so forth. Keep in mind this is on one ski. Extra points if you don't die.

only problem with those is that they were first produced way back in the day. they were wood and called banana skis. their is a video somewhere here on the crb that shows a guy who was pretty good on them.
